Can I edit the existing text in my PDF?

Our editor places annotation overlays on top of the PDF - it lets you add new text, highlights, drawings, shapes, and sticky notes directly over any page, including scanned documents. Rewriting existing embedded text characters is a limitation of browser-based PDF technology, but our overlay approach works for both digital and scanned PDFs.

Is my PDF uploaded to your servers?

No. Your file never leaves your device. All rendering and annotation is done client-side using pdf.js and pdf-lib running directly in your browser. This makes it safe for sensitive or confidential documents.

Does the editor work on scanned PDFs?

Yes! Since we render each page as an image canvas using pdf.js, both scanned and digital PDFs are fully supported. You can annotate, highlight, and add text on top of any page.

What happens to my annotations when I download?

When you click 'Download PDF', all your annotations - text, highlights, drawings, shapes, and sticky notes - are permanently embedded into the PDF file using pdf-lib. The downloaded file is a standard PDF that opens in any PDF viewer.
